The Education Department at the Huntington Theatre Company, in partnership with the Massachusetts Cultural Council, are the Massachusetts facilitators of Poetry Out Loud, the national poetry recitation contest run by the NEA and Poetry Foundation.

In year 10, Massachusetts has consistently ranked in the top 5 states both in number of students participating, and number of schools participating. POL is a national competition, with a $20,000 grand prize for the national champion.

For high school students in grades 9-12, participation is FREE to schools. All of the information you need can be found both on our website www.huntingtontheatre.org/pol as well as the POL national website, www.poetryoutloud.org.
