Amesbury Public Library Poetry Series and Open Mic
 Amesbury Public Libray Poetry Series, Tuesday, October 22 at 6pm, featured poet Ellie O'Leary
Amesbury Public Library continues its fall poetry series with featured poet, Ellie O’Leary, who often writes about growing up in the village of Freedom, Maine. She is the previous host of Writers Forum on WERU-FM, has won the Martin Dibner Memorial Fellowship in poetry, and has taught writing at Belfast (Maine) Senior College and at the Pyramid Life Center in the Adirondacks where she has been the co-founder of the new Fall Writerfest. She has an MFA from the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine. Her memoir Up Home Again and her poetry manuscript Breathe Here are forthcoming with North Country Press. Her work, both poetry and prose, has been published in Northern New England Review, Off the Coast, Peacock Journal, Boomer Lit Mag, Buddy – a lit zine, the poetry craft book Crafty Poet II, and in 3 Nations Anthology.
The Amesbury Public Library, 149 Main St. hosts a monthly poetry series with an open mic. Each month there is a featured poet followed by a discussion, an open mic and light refreshments. Stephen R.
